Title.

Hi, my name is Pete and my Father was a sewing machine mechanic for nearly 50 years. From a very early age I used to watch him repair and service various sewing machines and when 15 years old followed in his footsteps and became an apprentice sewing machine mechanic. Receiving the correct training over several years and eventually became a time served technician.

For over 30 years I have repaired and maintained numerous types and makes of industrial and domestic sewing machines. Over the years worked for several companies and also been employed as a specialist technician for a large American machine manufacturer with branches all over the world and a machine company in Germany. I have been on various sewing machine training courses both in the UK and Germany and have trained other people myself. The range of machinery and areas of the sewing industry I have experienced is wide. From domestic household sewing machines producing  700 stitches per minute to industrial machines capable of 8,000 spm. With machines using very fine needles and threads to sack and bag machines using needles the size of 4 inch nails and sewing with string for thread.

Many sewing machine repairs are simple 2 minute jobs

Over the years I have been surprised at the amount of machines that could have been repaired by most people, if only they knew what to look for. Many repairs are simple 2 minute jobs and most other repairs can usually be fixed within 10 to 20 minutes, when you know what to do. On occasions I have been shocked at the condition of some machines returned back from repair shops, being in a worse state than before going in. I can only assume the person doing the repairs had not received any proper training and had made unnecessary adjustments to justify the repair bill.

What sewing machine repair shops don't want you to know

The cost of a sewing machine repair is not based on how long the repair takes or what has been done. The cost and the price charged is for knowing what to do. Sometimes the cause of the problem can be diagnosed in less than 2 minutes without even using any tools but the repair bill could still be anything from £40 to £60. They may spend 10 minutes giving the machine a quick cleaning and oiling then sew a few rows of stitching on some material and tell you it needed a good service. But basically thats to justify the bill.

Many machine repairs only take 10 to 20 minutes and quite often diagnosing the fault may have been determined in just a few minutes when you know what to look for.

The secrets of repairing sewing machines revealed

Due to the lack of good information available I was prompted into writing a comprehensive sewing machine handbook manual which shows and explains in detail how to maintain and repair the domestic (lockstitch) sewing machine, ie; machines with a bobbin thread aswell as a needle thread. This handbook manual is called "The Ultimate DIY Sewing Machine Repair Manual". Starting with the basics for the novice then gradually moving on for the experianced user. Almost 140 pages including illustrations without any unnecessary pictures and padding. Containing 17 chapters that cover everything sewing machine users should and need to know about using and maintaining their machines. Complete with a comprehensive sewing problem section which covers virtually every sewing machine problem you are likely to meet with the causes and remedies. With chapters on machine repairs, motor and foot control faults, machine adjustments, stripping down and rebuilding procedures, replacing broken parts, performing a full service (not just a quick clean and oil). Plus revealing how to make adjustments to machine timings and settings, known only by trained machine technicians. Also some tricks of the trade not known by some machine repairers.

Please note. This isn't some down load ebook rubbish and is not available from any where else.

                                             Save ££s & ££s year after year

When sewing machines break down many people start fiddling and tinkering about not really knowing what they are doing making a simple problem into a much bigger one. As a result they end up paying for it repairing. Regardless of age, make or model, all domestic sewing machines have basic parts and movements that are common to them all. Written in a laid back easy to follow style without being technical you will have the answers and the know how to solve your machine problems. If you are wanting pages of glossy pictures then this manual is not for you. But if you want knowledge and information gained over many years enabling you to fix your machines, then you will save a small fortune on repairs and maintainance.

"The Ultimate DIY Sewing Machine Repair Manual" is the only book you will ever need and is a must for all sewing machine users. Everything you need to know about using and repairing the sewing machine is covered and it is best described as the sewing machine users bible. Much of this information also applies to industrial sewing machines.

This machine manual cost only £37.45 with FREE p&p worldwide and comes with email helpline service. This service would not be possible if I was not the author and genuine machine technician.

The Ultimate DIY Sewing Machine Repair Manual comes on 2 cd discs. Written as a word document in rich text format with pictures and illustrations in jpeg.

With the average repair costing around £40 to £60 just using this manual once to solve a problem it will have paid for itself. But over the years you will save many hundreds or possibly thousands of ££s on repairs and have many hours of trouble free sewing.

Testimonials

I would like to say how delighted I am with your repair manual. I could not believe how much information it contained. It really is the only sewing machine manual I will ever need. My nearest sewing machine shop is 20 mile away and past estimates for repairs have been £60 - £85. Since buying the manual I have repaired my machine twice and given it a full service. It has more than paid for itself already. Many thanks.

Many thanks to Pete. He was offering technical advice even before I bought his book. The book itself is superbly presented and the before and after sales service is second to none. Well recommended. R Kan
